On Wednesday 20 April 2016, members of the their team will be visiting the University to present a seminar entitled 'Very Short Pulse Lasers and their Applications'. They will then be on hand to answer your questions and over a buffet lunch.

Abstract

During this seminar we will focus on very short pulse, high-bandwidth lasers systems that are a catalyst for many diverse areas of research. Join the discussion to learn about the practical application of currently available short-pulse laser platformsand explore the exciting roadmap we foresee for research in this regime.

Speaker biography - Dr Ming Yang, International Sales Manager

After receiving his Masters degree from the China Academy of Science in 2007 for a thesis entitled ‘Interaction between clusters and the ultra-intensive laser,’ Dr. Yang completed his PhD entitled ‘Ultrafast Two-Dimensional Infrared Spectroscopy of Hydrogen-Bonded Base Pairs and Hydrated DNA’ at the Max Born Institute in Berlin. In 2012, Dr. Yang joined Femtolasers Produktions GmbH as a sales engineer and is now the International Sales Manager for Spectra-Physics Vienna.
