Advancing the manufacturing of next-generation light technologies

Programme highlights:

Keynote speaker

We are delighted to announce Dr Andrew Rickman OBE, Chairman of Rockley Photonics, as our keynote speaker who will be presenting on the translation of academic research into industry.

Technical programme

The event will showcase the latest advances in mid-IR and III-V sources, next-generation materials and metamaterials, with an emphasis on immediate industrial relevance and future developments. We will also address the impact of the EU referendum and the increasing role of digitisation in industry on UK photonics.

Innovation Fund launch

We will launch a new innovation fund open to RCUK-eligible research groups to support research projects relevant to future photonics manufacturing.

Speed-networking

Delegates will have the chance to take part in 'mini meetings' with key Hub researchers to facilitate collaborative projects with direct industry input.These specific one-to-ones can be pre-booked during event registration (book early as places are limited).

Exhibition

An industry and research exhibition run alongside the technical conference, providing an opportunity to see the latest technology innovations and meet with suppliers and prospective partners. The packed programme also includes tours of our state-of-the-art cleanrooms and laboratories, poster session, careers panel and drinks reception.
