Abstract
In the last two decades self-confined beams (spatial solitons) have been proposed as basic interconnections for self-organising integrated photonic circuits. Their waveguiding properties as well as their mutual interaction make solitonic waveguides the ideal elements to generate innovative hardware configurations. The seminar will review the principal properties of photorefractive solitons and their associated waveguides, focusing on the last results in terms of addressable switching devices for stigmergic routing.
